Week 39: Sept 22-29

NUMBERS OF THE WEEK

STEPS: Did not Record

I’m still not in the habit of wearing or charging my Apple Watch on the regular. I should just go back to logging in the steps whatever they are and just assume that it will all average out in time.

WEIGHT: down 1.8lbs

Still chipping away at it. Not really on track quite yet to lose 50lbs before I turn 50, but big losses like this are definitely a step in the right direction!

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK

Dense Bean Salad

Rarely a day goes by where I don’t pin a recipe on Instagram or Tik Tok and my phone is full of screen shots of food I’d like to try. I love to cook and try new things, also since I live alone I like to batch cook, so I have stuff to eat for the week to come. This is really conducive to the healthier lifestyle I am trying to adopt. So it seem apt for me to finally try one of the half dozen recipes for Dense Bean Salad that I have pinned over recent weeks.

5 STARS!! 10/10 Recommend!! Would definitely make again,

They easily portioned out into a delicious filling meal packed with protein that I could bring with me on the go. Below is a link to the creator that got me interested in Dense Bean Salad’s: Violet Witchel-Sundried Tomato (*NB-it’s can easily be modified to be more affordable, as the premium ingredients she uses are quite expensive)

ALBUM OF THE WEEK

X’s by Cigarettes After Sex

I am enraptured by this band from Texas, headed by the dreamy androgenous voice of Greg Gonzalez whose ethereal lyrics put me in a trance. Their new album X’s was released mid-July and I have been listening to it all week. It is exquisite and puts me in the sad/happy state of reminiscence. If you don’t know this band and just want to chill out, it’s worth a listen. The clip below is of their most critically acclaimed single from 2017-Apocolypse.
