HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK
100 Day Challenge
As one year winds down and another one is about to begin, I wanted to get ahead of the whole New Years Resolution hoopla and start developing positive habits now. So I started a 100 Day Challenge on Wednesday December 4th, 2024 that will run until Thursday March 13, 2025. There are 3 main categories:
Movement: Goal of at least 8000 steps daily
Tracking: Track what I eat and Journal daily
Self-Care: brush and floss my teeth and wash and moisturize my face/body everyday
MOVIE OF THE WEEK
Miracle of Christmas
I love a good Hallmark movie! Yes, they are predictable, cheesy, and usually overacted, but they have a way of getting me into the Holiday Spirit. Also interesting is that every year there is usually one or two that are filmed in Nova Scotia. What was especially cool about this year is the movie Believe in Christmas was not only filmed in Halifax and Mahone Bay, it starred someone I went to school with from Elementary through High School, John Reardon, and his real-life wife Meghan Ory. It was so fun to hear his voice again after so many years, and see all the familiar spots (including his sister’s house) be brought to life as a hotel in Christmasland. Although it won’t be racking up any major noms this awards season, it was super cute and I am glad I watched it.
ALBUM OF THE WEEK
Alligator Bites Never Heal by Doechii
I first heard Doechii a few years ago, but I never really HEARD her. I never really listened to her albums. She is a rapper from Tampa and I love Southern Rap aka Dirty South- probably stemming from my days living in Georgia. This girl is LIT. This girl is IT.
Her style is like nothing I have ever heard, she is authentic and raw, but also witty and light. But just enjoy it for yourselves . . . she did a FIRE Tiny Desk Concert a couple of weeks ago.
